So soothing.
This is a great take on the song. I saw it on youtube, so I find it kind of funny that I found it here too. I'm working on a remix of the song, I can only hope that it'd be this good.

Hehe yeah its the cover of the synthesia version on youtube :P
THx for the review and best of luck for your remix m8 :P
I'd hate to be the one to tell you, but...
I didn't like it much. The piano sounded very stale. Turning up the decay and release as well as adding a bit of reverb and echo could fix that. I felt that the hi-hat sound was kind of distracting; I think that's because it overpowers the bass drum, which should be your dominant instrument. I also felt like a bass instrument was missing. The vocals were really quite and mumbled, turn those up and I don't think they'll be so bad. Just take a little confidence in your own voice.
Ok, I think I've torn this piece apart enough. With a little work it can be really good. Go for it!
Excellent
This was all very good, but I did hear a bit of peaking from the strings in the opening. The bass sound was a bit rough for my tastes. It just kind of grinds the ears. Your build-ups were superb.
Dually noted. It was just that extra octave on the lead that was unnecessary, thus throwing everything else off. Same with the mid gain on the bass. Both of those should be fixed now.
Not my thing.
I didn't really like it, but that's just personal taste. I've never heard the original version of the song, but the acapella sounds like everything else on the radio. You did a pretty good job with the instruments, but again, sounds like it's been done a thousand times before. Mixing was pretty good.
My version is much more complex than the original, the beats are thicker. I've looked everywhere and I haven't seen a remix like mine done. They're all crappy repetitive beats. I find it strange to judge the song based on the one thing that I didn't do myself; the vocals. Thanks for the review though
5 years is a long time.
It was a good song, but I don't remember Green Hill Zone sounding much like that.
Thanks for the review man! I think you'll find that if you were to play Sonic The Hedgehog 2 on the Master System for example, and got to the Green Hill Zone, you would find a remarkable musical resemblance with this piece and that of the game.
Cheers
Brilliant!
Thank to this song, I can now crawl up my bedroom wall.
Haha, thanks! Stay tuned for the full version ;)
Some more advice.
Put some effects on a few of the percussion instruments. It will take away a bit of that stiff feeling you get at the beginning. The intro really throws you off to what's coming. At first I thought you were a total noob, but it got way better.
Yeah, glad you listened through though. Most people on newgrounds vote 0 if they don't like the first 10 seconds :[
I'm going to add some reverb and stuff to fix the intro and outro, will re-up in a sec.
Unoriginal.
This is just a midi rip. I'll give you a 1, because I just taught someone how to use FL for the first time and he can do exactly what you did to make this song. I'm not hating, I just don't think such little work should be given such high scores.
Looks like you don't read peoples descriptions before voting, I don't make "Remixes", I "remake" them to modern mp3 sound (Ever heard of a "band cover"?), you want a remix? check Glaciercap!
I listen to them since I don't have the original tracks, just the game, I just learned to do that "MIDI" thing, I installed the program yesterday and my friend (Not an FL user) taught me, I didn't know that MIDIs had note track, I asked about this because apparently, You and "Heresaspoon" had made the same comments, even one user had to explain me what a MIDI was (Check my Jenova's comments).
I understand you made one FF7 StMoFi too, THAT is what you call a "Remix"
I'm not mad at you, I give my praises to your remix, it's quite good, but... I'll just leave a comment this response is getting quite long.
Nobouo is a great composer and I'm not going to ruin it, I'd rather leave the track as he did.
Keep going strong!
You're not bad, but you have plenty of room for improvement. My suggestion would be to keep using the software. The more you do, the more you'll discover and the better your songs will sound.
Yeah, I just recently got this program so I'll defiantly keep using it!
Build!
This song could be made into a really powerful tune. It's got a lot of raw power. Just don't overdo it.
Hah, I'll try I suppose. Thanks for the review :D
